Dr. Barbara Rasco

Dr. Barbara Rasco is an expert in food safety and food law who has worked with Native American communities and businesses for over 20 years. She is currently  Dean of the College of Agriculture, Life Science and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming and formerly with Washington State University, the University of Idaho and University of Washington where she taught food processing, food safety, product development and labeling, food law, microbiology and nutrition. Dr. Rasco has conducted research that has made food safer and has helped hundreds of businesses become successful. She has worked across the United States mostly in rural communities and in 37 countries in economic development, food marketing and value chains, product and package development, processing and production technology, product safety, food laws and regulations and export certification programs. Dr. Rasco has assisted tribal governments and foreign countries with the development of their food safety laws and food codes.
