Women Who Wine Sip ‘n Paint
June 17 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm PDT$75
Helen Goodteacher is an indigenous-female artist and a member of the Nez Perce Tribe with Sioux and Ponca descent. She is attending Gonzaga University for graduate school in Communication and Leadership. Helen grew up in a household of art; both parents attended art school, therefore art was in her being and always supported. Nez Perce “Dreamer” style artists and the fashion of modern day indigenous people inspire her. She is a self-taught graphic designer and acrylic painter pursuing clay sculpting and printing. Helen’s art focuses on Native American tradition, culture, pride, and acceptance. She considers her style to be traditional art infused with modern and classic fashion. Through a visual voice, she hopes to demonstrate many versions of being indigenous, true to one’s self, traditional, and a proud indigenous Native American today.
