Building Connections for Native Housing Solutions
Nimiipuu Fund was proud to join the Board of Commissioners from the Nez Perce Tribal Housing Authority at the National American Indian Housing Council Annual Convention on May 4-6, 2026, where Tribal housing leaders from across the country gathered to strengthen partnerships, share solutions, and advocate for Native housing priorities.
The conference provided valuable opportunities to build relationships, gain insight into emerging housing resources and policy developments, and continue advancing housing opportunities for Tribal communities. Pictured with the group were Rudy Soto, Executive Director of the National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC); Matthew Vogel of the National Congress of American Indians; and Jonelle Yearout, Executive Director of Nimiipuu Fund. These moments of connection help strengthen the partnerships needed to address housing challenges and identify opportunities that can benefit Tribal communities.

Following the conference, Nimiipuu Fund participated in the Housing Our Relatives Summit, a collaborative convening organized by NeighborWorks America, Oweesta Corporation, and NAIHC, and hosted by Seven Sisters Community Development Group. This summit provided a deeper dive into housing-focused “communities of practice,” bringing together Native CDFIs, housing professionals, and Tribal leaders to explore strategies for expanding housing access and strengthening community development efforts. Jonelle Yearout, Anna Lawrence, and Chantelle Souther participated in the summit, contributing to conversations focused on practical, community-driven housing solutions.
Nimiipuu Fund remains committed to working alongside Tribal leaders, housing partners, and Native-serving organizations to bring innovative housing solutions, resources, and long-term opportunities back to the Nez Perce community and the region we serve.
